Stranded in landlocked Japan during the covid years, two things became quickly apparent. First, it was nearly impossible to take a bad photo in a land where EVERYTHING has been meticulously arranged. Second, as one of the few foreigners allowed into Japan at the time, I strangely felt a connection with the early European explorers of the country.
Once again, Japan was completely isolated from the outside world and this little book project was born to make sense of all the photos I was now taking in this forbidden land.
