CANTO VII  Part 1 - Avaricious and Prodigals

In the fourth circle of Dante's Inferno, sinners are condemned to push heavy boulders for eternity, representing the weight of wealth they foolishly sought in life. These sinners move in opposite directions, one group squandering their riches and the other clinging to them, resulting in clashes and fights. Dante also redefines the concept of Fate, believing it to be guided by a higher design. Demonic figure Plutus, symbolizing avarice and prodigality, is encountered.
