CANTO XII Part 1 - The Minotaur and The Violent

The travelers pass through the steep and rocky passage into the seventh circle of Hell. The Minotaur, a creature representing violence, tries to attack them but is calmed by Virgil. The poet also points Dante to the river of boiling blood guarded by centaurs that lies ahead.
